Annaharvey Newsletter - December 2009
Hi there, well we are all here shivering with the cold as a result of a very cold spell that’s hit the country replacing all the very heavy rain that has been battering us causing very serious flooding in many parts of the country and creating havoc in farmyards and people’s homes – we have been so fortunate here with no serious damage done but the rivers on the farm were well drained last summer and it has certainly paid off.
All the horses are now in their sheds for the winter and very snug they are too with lovely dry straw under them and plenty of hay and silage to eat ad lib – they are still busy with plenty of clients riding thankfully and the Friday night show jumping is going well too – we are missing our International riders this week gone by they have all gone back to the UK, Germany and the States and Sweden with their rosettes!!
Rachael has set her business up in Bunclody, Co. Wexford and all is going well for her – we miss her of course but we see and hear from her very regularly and we look forward to visitng her very regularly which will be nice for us and hopefully for her and Roy!!
The rest of the family are all busy – Joanna is helping me with doing the hampers for Christmas ably assisted by Katie of course, while Lucy keeps a close watch on us all. Maeve is all smiles and likes nothing better than to be perched on Sam’s knee at the table in the guesthouse taking stock of everyone and everything – Aisling says she thrives on an audience, but likes a new one on a daily basis! She is a lovely baby and a great thrill to us all as are all 3 of the girls, we are so blessed with them and they bring such joy to us all.
We have been running cookery courses over the past few weeks with our Christmas course last Weds night – we had a great crowd in attendance and it went well – there is a great interest in getting back to basics now that the recession has hit so interesting times ahead.
We are looking forward to Christmas and having all the family around this year – last year they were all away except Aaron and Rach so this year will be great with them all home – Joanna and Rory are doing the cooking and I will really appreciate that!
Well that’s all for now – we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hope the coming year will be a successful one for all,
Best regards,
Lynda, Henry and family.
