Annaharvey Farm Flapjacks.
This is a variation on the traditional flapjacks – some of you have probably found that the regular recipe can be very hard and "chewy" and definitely not something you offer to anyone with false teeth!
My grandmother made the most amazing "mouse cakes" which none of us seem to be able to replicate, but this recipe is a cross between the two, so give them a go and see how you like them.
1 lb. Oatmeal
8 ozs. Brown Sugar
8 ozs. Self –raising flour
1lb Melted Butter
1 teasp Salt
1 tablespoon Golden Syrup
Place all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well – add melted butter and golden syrup and continue mixing.
Place baking parchment on a cookie tray and pour mix onto it pressing down well.
Bake in a med hot oven 20 – 30 mins till golden brown – leave to cool before cutting into squares.
