Calverstown Eventing Ireland Horse Trials

Patrick ParsonsPaddy happy with first day Eventing.

Annaharvey’s instructor Patrick Parson notched up a very good second place at the Calverstown Eventing Ireland Horse Trials on Sunday 29th June. This was Paddy’s first outing of the year with Tabazimbi (a.k.a. Wilma) eventing in the Sportsman class.

In the dressage phase this combination scored 60% giving them a dressage penalty of 40 leaving them in the middle of the field after Dressage. There was only one way but up for Paddy as a rare clear round in the show jumping moved the pair up the places.

Next came the cross–country where a very fast clear round out the country brought Paddy and Tabazimbi home one of only two competitors to get zero penalties on the cross–country. This moved the pair up to eventual second place.

Paddy said he was delighted with his placing and he hopes to move up to Sportsman A at the next event which he hopes will be Grove Horse Trials in Co. Tipperary.
